Fitness blogger shares how to style workout clothes

A rapidly growing trend is athleisure style and doesn’t seem to be going anywhere. The amazing thing about athleisure wear is that there is almost no wrong way to wear it because it’s all about comfort. Love this idea of style and comfort but not sure how to pull it off? Check out these easy style tips.

    1. Find your base item– This can be a simple black pair of leggings that you build upon by adding in a fun pop of color or playful prints. By having a base item this will make it easier to build an entire outfit.
    2. Mix and match with regular clothes– Don’t be afraid to mix and match regular clothes with your athleisure pieces. Throw on a jean jacket or a ball cap to pull the look together. If you are using your gym clothes to workout than run errands, then be sure to grab some regular clothes to pull your look into a trendy chic (instead of a sweaty gym rat).
    3. Accessorize– Beyond just leggings and tanks try to think how you can pull the whole look off. Easy go-to accessories are sunglasses, chunky purse or sporty watch will always do the trick.
    4. Go for style– It’s important to remember while athleisure is all about comfort you still want to put a little bit of time into planning your outfit. Don’t just throw old sweatpants and an old t-shirt. The goal is to still look put together but in a comfy way.
    5. Get some cool kicks– You want your outfit to look trendy from head to toe, so you can’t forget about shoes. Having some fun bright colored sneakers can really make your outfit pop or bring the whole outfit together. You will want to take care of your shoes and from time to time clean them off so they don’t look too worn in.

Quick and easy healthy snack from starbucks

fitness blogger's favorite low calorie starbuck drinks

Fitness blogger eats at Starbucks , learn the healthy drinks and foods

I am a huge fan of meal prepping for the week but even I sometimes run out of the house without enough food. It’s better to eat something than not eating at all. If you don’t eat and skip meals you are more likely to binge later. My go-to snack right now is Starbucks yogurt parfaits with a black coffee. With 14 grams of protein, and a good source of a probiotic you can’t go wrong.

I understand not everyone drinks their coffee black so here are a few low-calorie drink options that are under 100 calories.

  • Caffe latte- tall, non-fat milk
  • Cinnamon dolce latte- skinny tall, non- fat milk
  • Caramel macchiato- skinny, tall, non- fat milk

Have you tried Starbucks yogurt parfaits? What’s your favorite snack from Starbucks?

4 Ways to Lose Body Fat Without Sacrificing Your Lifestyle

find a good relationship with food from these 4 healthy tips

trendy fitness blogger that has 4 tips to lose weight

you don't have to diet to lose weight, see my 4 tips to lose body fat

lose weight with these 4 tips from fitness blogger bella hibbs

classic black nike sports bra fitness blogger bella hibbs

learn to lose weight without dieting fitness blogger

fitness blogger in black nike fashion outfit

Let me first start out by saying I am not competing for any bikini competition right now. I am about 7-10 pounds up from my competition weight, which is totally natural. Right now I want to slim down just a little bit but the thought of going back on a diet and saying no to happy hour just doesn’t sound appealing. With these 4 tips not only have I been able to lose a little weight but I have also started creating a healthy relationship with food. I hope these tips will help you as they have helped me 🙂

1. Drink lots of water throughout the day. When your dehydrated your body can think it’s hungry and those end up being wasted calories. If you aren’t a big fan of water try a club soda, or add lemon to your water.

2. Find easy swaps for your favorite foods. You don’t have to give up for favorite foods, just find healthy swaps. Almost every food has some sort of healthy swap here are a few of my favorite swaps.

  • Sour cream »»»» plain greek yogurt
  • French fries »»»» air popped popcorn
  • Mayo »»»» Mustard
  • Maple syrup  »»»»  Walden farms zero calorie syrup
  • Wine »»»» Fit Vine Wine or Skinnygirl wine

3. You have to get moving! I encourage you to try weight lifting but I understand that isn’t for everyone. Find what you enjoy, this can be a group fitness class, swimming, hiking etc. Also in your everyday activity, park in the back of the lot, take the stairs at work or take the dog on an extra walk.  You will burn more calories and distract you from food. I have been using a Fitbit for 3 years now and LOVE it! My goal is to get 10,000 steps every day even on rest days. It’s a great way to keep track!

4. The biggest key to losing weight is to be in a calorie deficit. Calories in versus calories out (burned). This is good because once you know your maintenance level of calories you need to consume then you can add in the foods you already love. You can achieve this by eating less, burning more calories or a combination of both. This is similar to macro counting. As always I suggest still adding in proteins, healthy fats and veggies etc but this way you can also still enjoy the foods you love without binging! All foods are okay in moderation.

Tell me what your favorite food swaps are?

As of right now, I won’t be doing another bikini competition again this year which means my workout routine has changed. I have been getting a ton of questions on social media about what is different now.

I still pay for a coach during my offseason, this helps with accountability. If you are interested in having someone set up your nutrition and workouts check out my coach, Brad! He makes plans for competitors and for people who are looking to have a healthier lifestyle, send him an email to see if he can help with your fitness goals,

Workout Routine

I warm up for 5-10 minutes before all my workouts. On leg days I warm up with glute activation.

Examples: lying leg curls, glute kickbacks, walking lunges etc

Tuesday- back/shoulders

Examples- assisted pulls ups, standing shoulder press, seated rows etc

Wednesdayglutes/thighs/compound movements

Examples- sumo squats, deadlifts, hip thrusts etc

Thursday– chest/biceps/triceps

Examples- bench press, hammer curls, assisted dips etc

Examples- squats, leg press, leg extensions etc

Saturday cardio or HITT, 30 to 45 mins

As far as reps and sets, right now I’m trying to lift heavy and hit new PR’s (personal record). So that being said I’m doing lower reps 10 to 12 for 3 rounds. When I train glutes I do 15 reps for 4 rounds. Find what works best for you and your goals 🙂

Happy Saturday my boss babes!

My super awesome, feminist sister showed me this adorable crop top, and I fell in love with it (plus it is only $14 on Amazon)! Something you may not know about me is that I am extremely passionate women’s rights and empowerment. While women’s rights are a huge topic and making progress towards true gender equality may seem daunting, every person can make an impact! You may think to yourself: “I’m not a politician, what can I do?” Well it is SIMPLE, support women!

Often, despite our best intentions, our first instinct is to not support other women. Instead, we compare ourselves with the women around us, rather than build each other up. Whether it is about appearances, relationships, careers, talents — these types of comparisons often bring about feelings of jealousy and create an unhealthy sense of competitiveness.

Here’s an example: I compete in bikini competitions where the other women are literally my competition. I could let this negatively impact my behavior towards them or myself. I could seclude myself backstage during a show and say “I’m not here to make friends, this a competition”. But instead, I choose to make friends with the women backstage and have been made many friends through competing.

I understand seeing other women as competition, especially in the fitness or blogging industry since it is so competitive. But before you are quick to judge, maybe think about reaching out and starting a conversation. If you do this, you will likely discover you have more in common than you think. And who knows it might lead to a beautiful friendship.

Share this blog with your best boss babes!

I know what your thinking right about now. What bodybuilding, that is for crazy super buff people taking steroids right? Let me clear up some misconceptions about bodybuilding.

Yes, unfortunately, a lot of people in the sport (men AND women) do steroids. I, however, compete in a natural competition and competitors are drug tested. I want people to follow my fitness journey and know that they can achieve their goals if they work out and follow a diet plan.

Other organizations you can win your pro card if you place top 2 at a national show (NPC), that is not the case for Fitness Universe it is only 1st place who gets their pro card and at some shows you have to win the overall as well.

The bikini division is compiled of 2 rounds. You have your bikini round and theme wear round. This is where you get to live your inner Victoria Secret model fantasy. Each round is an opportunity to show off your body but also your creativity and personality.

If you have any questions about doing a bikini competition let me know! Thank you for all the support. I can’t wait to compete again, and next time I’m going to get that 1st place trophy!

High Protein Snacks At the Store

We have all day those days where we are running late and don’t have any food. In this blog, I will show you 5 high protein snacks you can pick up at the grocery store.  I like to opt for higher protein foods because protein keeps you fuller longer. You can also tune into my youtube video HERE.

Quest Protein Chips – 21 grams of protein

These chips seriously taste amazing and they are healthy! Quest chips are also a great way to satisfy your chip cravings.

Bella Hibbs Lifestyle Blogger in Arizona. Check out Hibbs Life & Style for fitness and fashion inpiration!

Tuna Packet18 grams of protein

This packet all ready for you to eat! It even comes with a little fork to mix it all together!

Muscle Milk 25 grams of protein

I personally only like the chocolate flavor but they also have a vanilla. The vanilla is just a little too sweet for me. You can grab a banana for a complex carb and you will have a full meal.

Greek Yogurt– 11 grams of protein

Greek yogurt is a good source of protein and probiotic which promotes a healthy gut.

Granola – 10 grams of protein

While this brand of granola has 10 grams of protein be sure you are measuring out the correct serving size. It’s easy to snack on this granola because of its amazing taste, but we don’t want mindless eating.

TIP: Get the greek yogurt and protein granola and mix together for 21 grams of protein! The granola adds a satisfying crunch to your snack.

P3, Portable Protein Pack 17 grams of protein

P3 has a few different flavors you can choose from and the protein varies from 11 grams to 17. Protein helps you stay fuller longer so I go for the greater protein option.

These are all great high protein options you can grab at your local grocery store! Drop a note below if you have any high protein snacks!
